Quarry Road Trails

The Colby Nordic ski team began competing and practicing at Quarry Road Trails in Waterville during the 2013 season. The venue is within walking distance of Mayflower Hill. The area offers 13.3 km (8.2 miles) of world-class groomed Nordic ski trails, and additional miles of backcountry snowshoe and hiking trails.

With Miller Library in the background, the stadium next to the parking lot offers open access to both sides of the trail system and a nice view of the landscape.

Snowmaking capacity has extended the ski season on the front end and the back, and also ensures a reliable surface throughout.

From the incredible snowmaking system to the challenging and FIS homologated competition trails, we feel we train and race on one of the best trail systems in the country. Having early and consistent snow is the biggest factor in being ready for our season and developing top level racers. Year after year, we are skiing weeks and in some cases months before other programs. In a sport that depends on a snowy surface, we know we will get on skis thanks to Quarry Road.”
