Kendall Glover has been selected to represent the United States as a member of the USA Division III Women's Volleyball Red Team on an upcoming competitive tour of Brazil this summer.
The tour, which runs from June 22 through July 1, features invited NCAA Division III women's players from across the country. Glover is part of an elite group of athletes recognized nationally, regionally, and by their respective conferences.
The program begins with orientation in Orlando, Florida, on June 22 before the teams depart for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While in South America, the USA D-3 teams will compete in doubleheaders at various clubs, including the Marina Barra Clube and the TC Tijuca club in Barra Tijuca. On Saturday, June 27, the teams will participate in an "International Challenge" in Rio de Janeiro.
Beyond the competition, the tour is designed to provide educational, cultural, and social growth. The team will experience several unique opportunities, including social outreach, visiting iconic landmarks, learning Olympic history, as well as local culture.
"Many of the players on this year's USA D-3 Volleyball Team had great individual seasons and led their teams into post-season play," said Ron Smith of USA Sports Tours & Events. Glover fits that description perfectly, joining the Red Team under the leadership of Head Coach Karrah Davis (University of Dubuque) after a strong debut season on Mayflower Hill.
