Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Maimonis Nets Overtime Winner as Women’s Lacrosse Stuns Endicott in Thriller

WATERVILLE, Maine – In a contest defined by spectacular scoring runs and high-stakes drama, senior Julia Maimonis played the hero, netting the game-winning goal with just six seconds remaining in overtime to lift the No. 11 Colby College Women's Lacrosse team to an 11-10 victory over Endicott College on Wednesday night. The win marks the fifth consecutive victory for the surging Mules.

Key Highlights:

  • Overtime Heroics: After Endicott rallied late in the fourth quarter to force extra time, Julia Maimonis took matters into her own hands, driving home the unassisted winner in the final seconds of the overtime period to secure the victory at Bill Alfond Field.

  • Silva's Second-Half Surge: Freshman Joselyn Silva was a force in the offensive end, recording a hat trick. Her two quick-fire goals in the fourth quarter were instrumental in a massive Colby run that turned the tide of the game.

  • Fourth Quarter Dominance: Trailing 6-5 entering the final frame, the Mules' offense exploded for five goals. Stella Regan and Julia Maimonis each found the back of the net during this stretch to give Colby a late 10-8 lead.

  • Regan's All-Around Play: Senior Stella Regan continued her elite playmaking, finishing with three points (2 goals, 1 assist) and providing the veteran leadership needed during the game's high-pressure moments.

  • Defensive Resilience & Hall's Heroics: Sophomore goalkeeper Brynna Hall was spectacular under pressure, racking up 9 saves—including several point-blank stops in the first half and overtime—to keep the Mules within striking distance.

  • Midfield Possession: Gisele Uva led the effort in the draw circle, securing a team-high 6 draw controls as Colby out-dueled the Gulls 13-10 in total draws.

The game was a back-and-forth battle of runs. After a defensive first half left the teams tied 3-3, Endicott took control in the third quarter. However, the Mules showed the resilience that has defined their winning streak, clawing back from a two-goal deficit in the fourth to set up Maimonis' last-second theatrics.

With the win, Colby improves to 6-3 overall and carries a massive wave of momentum back into NESCAC conference play this weekend.

Final Score:
Endicott: 10
No. 11 Colby: 11 (OT)

Up Next: The Mules return to Bill Alfond Field for a pivotal NESCAC showdown against Amherst College on Saturday, April 4, along with a celebration of their seniors.  The opening draw is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
