Mules Show Resilience in Competitive Match at MIT

Cambridge, Mass. — Colby Volleyball wrapped up their non-conference weekend this Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 (20-25, 13-25, 21-25) to ninth-ranked MIT at Rockwell Cage.

The Mules fought hard throughout the non-conference match-up, totaling 30 kills, 29 assists, and six team blocks against the Engineers.

Brady Moseley served as Colby's kill leader for the afternoon with nine kills and a .208 hitting percentage to go along with a team-high 11 digs. Evelyn Kunde delivered seven kills, while Cyanne Jones contributed a successful block and three kills, generating a hitting percentage of .333. Brianna Hazak added three kills, six digs, and two service aces. In the front row, Marjorie Johnson and Haley Beigh added two kills apiece, with Kendall Glover chipped in two kills and a pair of blocks. Middle hitter Marjorie Johnson maintained a strong offensive rhythm all weekend, providing a reliable net presence for Colby across both weekend matches.

Setters Sydney DeProfio and Gabby Grujic provided steady leadership throughout the weekend, keeping the offense fluid with precise distribution across hitters and multi-stat contributions. Sydney DeProfio set a team-leading 13 assists and Gabby Grujic adding 10 assists and four digs. First-year setter Reese Blanchard also added to the depth with overall team assists, recording five assists in two sets of play.

Defensively, libero Reese Loyd defended the back row with 12 digs, while Jordan Lee and Olivia Drayden each delivered service aces. Freshman Anaya Francois continued to build on her back-row contributions, recording four digs and a assist block at the net.

The Mules return to our home floor on Friday, October 9, hosting conference rival Wesleyan University at 7:00 p.m.
