Middlebury, Vt. — Colby fell to Middlebury College, 5-0, on Saturday at Peter Kohn Field. Their record drops to 4-4 overall and 1-4 in the NESCAC.
The Mules battled throughout the contest but faced sustained pressure from the Middlebury attack. Middlebury scored five goals to build its lead, while Colby continued to compete defensively and worked to create opportunities in the attacking end.
Goalkeeper Ginna Jacoby made 10 saves for Colby, including five in the second period and three in the fourth. The Mules finished with three shots - one from Hadley Swenson, Ruth Collins, and one on goal from Christina Sweeney. Colby earned two penalty corners.
Colby will look to respond in its next contest as the Mules continue their season with an out of conference game against Thomas College on Monday.
