Waterville, ME - Building on momentum from the previous day, the Mules delivered a determined performance against a highly ranked Tufts squad in the first NESCAC contest of the 2026 season, ultimately coming up just short in a tightly contested 5–4 loss.
After falling to the Jumbos 7–2 last season, Colby entered the match determined to close the gap. Opening the scoring for the Mules was freshman
Hamza Wessam '29, who earned a commanding 3–0 victory to give Colby an early boost.
Carlos Zendejas '27 followed with another strong performance, taking care of his opponent in a tough yet convincing straight-set win.
After dropping the opening game,
Timo Radionov '28 responded with resilience, battling back to secure a four-game victory in a hard-fought clash. The final win of the day for Colby came from senior
Youssef Mostafa '25, who outlasted his opponent in a grueling four-game, 55-minute battle. Mostafa fought until the final point, sealing the match with a dramatic 12–10 win in the deciding game.
The Colby Men's Squash Team returns to action at home tomorrow for another NESCAC contest against the Connecticut College Camels.
