Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Mules Earn 2-2 Tie on the Road at Emmanuel

Boston, Mass. - The Colby College Women's Soccer team traveled to Boston to close their opening weekend with a non-conference matchup against Emmanuel College. After a hard fought battle, the Mules came away with a 2-2 tie.

Coming off yesterday's exciting win, Colby carried strong energy and consistency into today's matchup. The first half saw multiple chances on both sides, but neither team was able to break through. Early in the second half, Emmanuel struck first, but that did not discourage the Mules. Abigail Jarvi responded just 1:06 later, striking a low centered shot to even the score at 1-1. Colby kept the pressure on, and at 69:24, Sophie DiGrande put the Mules ahead 2-1 with a shot to the bottom right corner off an assist from Amanda Schneider. Emmanuel equalized the game again in the 75th minute, making it a 2-2 game. In the last 15 minutes of play, Colby's defense and goalkeeper Sadie Gardner stood tall, preventing further damage. Gardner finished with two saves, while Jarvi led all players with three shots on goal.

The Mules will next face the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday at 4:30 PM.
