Baseball Entering NESCAC Tournament as Top Seed in the East

Waterville, Maine - For the second straight season, the Colby Baseball team is heading into the postseason as the top seed in the NESCAC East Division following two clutch wins against Tufts and a win over Bates to earn the number one spot. This marks the fourth consecutive appearance for the Mules in the conference tournament.

Colby will host the fourth seed in the west, the Wesleyan Cardinals, on Coombs Field this weekend for a quarterfinals best two of three series for the second straight year. Last year in the quarterfinal series the Mules took care of the Cardinals in two games winning game one 8-1 and game two 6-5 in 10 innings. Colby also took care of Wesleyan in two games back in the 2002 quarterfinals.

Game one is scheduled for a 12:00pm start this Saturday, May 4th with game two to follow. Game three, if necessary, will take the following day, Sunday May 5th, scheduled for 11:00am. Fans can follow alongside the action using the live stats and live video links as well as check out the NESCAC Championship Central page for more information.

The winner of this series will advanced to the double-elimination tournament alongside the other three quarterfinal winners taking place May 9th-11th at Bowdoin.
