Waterville, Maine - Following a successful undefeated spring break trip, the Colby Men's Tennis team looked to make it five wins in a row against Williams College in a NESCAC showdown.
The doubles point was very competitive, with back-and-forth momentum swings. Williams struck first with a 6-3 win at the #2 spot. Colby responded with an impressive victory at the #1 position, with senior captain

Jason Daly improving their dual match record to 5-1. The duo took command early with a 5-1 lead before their opponents raised their level bringing the match to 5-4. The Colby pair played an incredible back-and-forth point to win and fend off the comeback, winning 6-4. With each team securing a doubles win, it came down to the #3 position to see who would secure the all-important opening point. Unfortunately for the Mules, Williams held on to win a tight 6-4 contest, securing the doubles point heading into singles play.Â
Williams took the lead early in singles play, winning the first set on all six courts. The Ephs continued their momentum into their second sets, winning in straight sets on five of the six courts. However, at the #2 position, Daly fought back from a first-set loss, coming back strong with a 6-3 second set. The freshman phenom continued his perfect start to his dual match career, defeating his opponent 4-6, 6-3, 1-0(8), improving his record to an unbelievable 10-0 record.Â
The Mules next play tomorrow against #7 ranked Middlebury, where they will look to pull off the upset.Â
