Cambridge, Massachusetts - If you thought the overtime win against Endicott was good, the MIT game had at least double the intensity. Colby's non-conference matchup against the Engineers was a thriller, as the Mules saw a 6-goal lead disappear and force overtime where Nick Sokolosky buried the winner. The win takes Colby to 2-4 overall while MIT drops to 3-5.

Both teams had a hot start, with the Mules jumping out to a 4-1 lead behind a quick Bennett Goller hat-trick, only for MIT to tie the game up 4-4 to end the quarter. Colby regained their momentum in the second quarter with another quick 3-0 run, as Gavin Rothenberg grabbed his second, Nick Sokolosky his first, and Goller found the back of the net yet again to give the Mules a 7-6 lead heading into the break.

Coming out of the half, Brooks Rayment opened the scoring, but MIT came charging back and eventually took the lead. Down 1 with five minutes to go in the third, Colby went on a tear, scoring six straight goals. Goller added another to his tally while Cormac O'Neill and Will Steele grabbed their first of the game. To make things even better for the Mules, Carter Smith made it seven straight to open the fourth quarter–but like Colby's run, the Engineers had one of their own and ended up tying the game with less than 20 seconds left. 

In overtime, Jackson Alvord won the faceoff, giving the Mules possession, and after a quick timeout, Goller found Sokolosky for the winner–his 18th goal of the season.

Colby is back in action Saturday, March 29th at 1 pm, as they host the #1 team in the nation, Tufts University.
