Waterville, ME - The Colby Men's Squash team opened its home season on Saturday with several tightly contested matches, but eventually fell 8-1 to Dartmouth.
Colby's lone win came at the number two spot, where
Carlos Zendejas '27 delivered a gritty five-game performance. After dropping two tight middle games, Zendejas recovered with disciplined, patient play and outlasted his opponent in an 80 minute battle.
The Mules nearly added to their total at both the number 5 and number 7 spots, where
Omar Bastawy '26 and Tymofii Radionov '28 each pushed their matches to five games. Radionov's back-and-forth battle featured long, physical rallies, while Bastawy forced his opponent to five after dropping the first two games. Despite their efforts, both fell just short in narrow 3–2 losses.
Throughout the middle and lower ladder, Colby continued to challenge Dartmouth, with several players keeping games close and extending rallies. The Big Green, however, maintained control in key moments and secured victories in these positions.
Colby is back at home on January 9th to face the Tufts Jumbos.
