Middletown, Conn. - In a critical NESCAC match-up, the Colby Women's Squash team commanded the court and bested the Cardinals in a decisive 7–2 victory.
After falling short to Wesleyan last year, Colby was hungry for a win, and asserted their dominance from the get-go. In the first round of matches,
Laavanya Kugan '26,
Maggie Motch '28, and
Tori Thill '28 set the tone, each collecting strong 3-0 victories and establishing a strong momentum for the Mules.
Nathalie Sim '27,
Tattie Gibbs '28, and
Amanda Miller '26 all followed suit, each securing wins to solidify Colby's victory. At the No. 3 spot,
Abhisheka David '26 debuted her senior season with a hard-fought four game win.
Haley Coon '28 and
Gigi McWhorter '29 fought long, competitive matches, each taking the opening game and pushing their opponents deep into 30+ minute battles before ultimately falling to strong Wesleyan players.
With their first victory and NESCAC win of the season secured, the Mules will look to carry this momentum into their home opener against Dartmouth on December 6th after the holiday break.
