Mules Close October with 3–1 Victory at Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. - Volleyball (20–2, 8–1 NESCAC) closed the month in style with a 3–1 victory at Trinity (25–19, 25–19, 18–25, 25–14).

The Mules set the tone early, hitting .324 in Set 1 (15 kills, just 3 errors) and following with another 15-kill frame at .220 to build a 2–0 lead. The block—anchored by Kendall Glover and Cyanne Jones—set the tone early, and steady serve receive let Colby side out efficiently to keep the Bantams at arm's length. Trinity answered in the third with its best stretch of the night (.263), putting together runs in transition to take it 25–18 and extend the match. After Trinity's third-set surge, Colby regrouped and put the hammer down in the fourth: the Mules hit .323 with only four errors while holding the Bantams to .000, and an 11–3 edge in total blocks showed up repeatedly in the final points as Glover, Jones, and Brady Moseley sealed the net. The team delivered a decisive 25–14 finish and gave Colby its 20th win of the season.

Moseley delivered a complete performance with 20 kills and 16 digs, while Marjorie Johnson added 10 kills and Alexa Peguero chipped six more. Glover (6 blocks) and Jones (5) headlined the front-row defense. The setting corps distributed the offense cleanly with 18 assists and two aces from Gabby Grujic, 12 assists and one ace from Jordan Lee and 10 assists from Sydney DeProfio. Libero Reese Loyd paced the back row with 17 digs, as Colby edged Trinity 73–72 total in that category. By the numbers, Colby hit .236 on the night (55–18–157) to Trinity's .109 (42–25–156), won kills 55–42, aces 5–4, and blocks 11–3, with a 49–40 advantage in assists.

Next Colby will head to New London, Conn., to face Connecticut College on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 2:00PM for the final NESCAC showdown before the championship begins.
