Waterville, Maine -  Senior day at Colby couldn't have ended any better. On a day that marks the success and accomplishment of upperclassmen, the Mules' last home game was saved by senior Chase Dolinko. After a goal from Wesleyan with 20 minutes to go, Dolinko tied the game up in the last five minutes, to earn Colby a 1-1 draw. The tie takes the Mules to 5-4-5 overall and 0-4-5 in NESCAC conference play.
Looking to spoil Colby's last home game, the #21-ranked Cardinals started strong, forcing two early saves from goalkeeper Jackson Magee. But the Mules responded well as Andy Uku tested the keeper, while Dolinko forced a block and Jude Gussen sent a shot wide to kick-start Colby's offense.
Coming out of the break, the Mules stepped up the pressure, out-performing Wesleyan in the shot column 10-1. Gussen hit the post five minutes into the half off a header, while Charlie Scott and Ryan Stewart both forced saves from the Cardinals' shot stopper. However, against the run of play, the one shot from Wesleyan ended up finding the back of the net, putting them ahead 1-0. From then on, Colby briefly lost momentum but continued to fight for an equalizer. In the 84th minute, Chase Dolinko finished off a solo effort to not only tie the game but to score in his last home game for the Mules.
Colby is back in action on Tuesday, October 28th, as they travel to in-state rivals Bates for their last game of the season.
