Hartford, Conn. - The Colby College Women's Soccer team faced the Bantams of Trinity College this afternoon. The Mules earned a 4-1 victory, improving their overall record to 8-2-3.
The Mules took the lead early when
Abigail Jarvi found the back of the net off a pass from
Avery Barton at 7:04. After more back and forth play, at 23:13,
Madison Genser doubled the lead with a shot to the bottom right, assisted by
Ella Caraluzzi. Colby totaled eight shots in the first half, while the defensive line along with goalkeeper
MK Marshall allowed zero shots on goal for Trinity. Entering the second half ahead 2-0, Colby continued to control game with many offensive opportunities. At 62:54, Trinity got on the board, but that did not stop the Mules. With 10 minutes left of play
Amanda Schneider fired a rocket into the top left to restore the two goal advantage. Just one minute later at 81:19,
Claire Walsh added another, setting the Mules ahead 4-1. In the final nine minutes, Colby's defense stayed composed, and goalkeeper
Sadie Gardner made three key saves to secure the win. After an exciting second half, the Mules walked away with the 4-1 victory.
The Mules will host Wesleyan next Saturday for an exciting homecoming weekend matchup at 11:00 AM.
