Waterville, MAINE - The Colby Women's Squash team gave Wesleyan's team a challenge this past Saturday despite being down three of their top players. With Colby down their #1, #2, and #4, the Mules continued to show up well against the Wesleyan Cardinals for three consecutive waves of hard fought points but fell in the end 8-1. Colby is now 2-4 so far this season while Wesleyan improves to 9-2.
Of the nine matches Victoria Thill,
Amanda Miller and
India Spencer's matches each went to five close sets with all players fighting until the bitter end. The majority of the Mules points came from their strong length and effective volley drops.
Their gritty play and grace should not be underestimated as they hit the road at the end of the week to play Connecticut College this coming Saturday February 1st for another in conference competition.
