Field Hockey Dominates Thomas in 5-1 Win

Waterville, Maine. - The Colby College Field Hockey team played at Thomas College on Sunday evening. The Mules came out strong and held their lead the whole game, resulting in a 5-1 win. 

Colby dominated in the first quarter of the game, finding seven shots on goal. Elizabeth Takoudes earned a stroke penalty shot five minutes into the game and found the back of the net, giving the Mules a 1-0 lead. McKay Allain then registered her first goal of the season at the end of the first quarter. Colby didn't let up, Casey Winslow finding yet another goal early into the second quarter, and Takoudes scored her second of the game later in the quarter. Thomas came out strong to start the second half, but the Mules defended well, and Allain found her second of the game during the third quarter. Thomas was able to get one ball past the Mules, but Colby held their lead, registering five offensive penalty corners against the Terriers in the fourth quarter. Leah Anderson and Harri Baker stood strong in goal for the Mules, registering three saves total.

Colby is back in action for their home opener this Saturday against Connecticut College at 11am.
