Waterville, Maine – Colby Athletics recently announced Marc Roy as Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations. He rolls into the position after a successful term with Colby's Department of Recreation, helping to expand the footprint of recreation at Colby in many areas.
"Colby is thrilled to welcome Marc into his new role on Mayflower Hill," said Deputy Athletic Director Casie Runskmeier. "Marc has proven to be a great teammate as he is willing to assist in any situation and problem solve. His ability to be detail-oriented and have a proactive approach combined with his strong communication skill set will be an asset to the position and the department."
Originally from Merrimack, New Hampshire, Roy earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management and his MBA from Husson University. With stints at the University of Maine, Orono and the University of Southern Maine, he arrived at Colby in 2021 as Assistant Director of Recreation Services, housed within the Department of Athletics and Recreation. Quickly rising to Associate Director, Roy spearheaded multiple major advancements since his arrival, including overseeing over 30 club teams and 800 club athletes competing regionally and nationally. He helped establish a personal training program for faculty and staff and created a group fitness and personal training certification pathway for students at the College. Over the last three years, Colby created 10 new club teams as well as the Colby Club Sport Council, and participation in group fitness programming grew by over 50% for students, faculty, and staff.

Roy will begin his new appointment on July 1
st, 2024.
