Gorham, Maine - The Colby College Softball team played another double-header today against the University of Southern Maine. They unfortunately lost both games, the first one ending in a score 3-7 and the second 0-6. This brings the Mules to a season record of 16-18 and the Huskies to 23-9.

Game 1:

• The Mules scored their first run in the second inning when Courtney Schumacher hit an incredible home run to right field. Victoria Ramirez then lined out to the third baseman and Emma Burnham doubled down the left field line. Kathryne Clay walked to first and Kat Xiong flied out to left field.
• During the fourth, Ramirez flied out to center field and Burnham doubled to left center. Clay was hit by a pitch, allowing her to walk to first. Carissa Cassidy singled through the left side which allowed Clay and Burnham to score. Ayston Asadoorian walked to to first and Chloe Wilcox flied out to left field.
• In the fifth inning, Schumacher grounded out to the third baseman and Ramirez doubled to center field. Burnham walked to first and Clay flied into double play, right field to first baseman. 
• During the seventh, Asadoorian walked to first and Wilcox flied out to left field. Schumacher singled to shortstop and Ramirez flied out to left field. Lastly, Burnham walked and Clay flied out to left field. 
• Kathryne Clay and Abby Orso both pitched in this game, Orso with two strikeouts and only allowing two runs. 

Game 2:

• In the first inning, Grace Gouin grounded out to shortstop and Wilcox doubled to left field, followed by Schumacher walking to first.
• In the second, Juliana Kiley singled up the middle and Katelyn Hays grounded into double plays, second baseman to first baseman.
• During the fourth, Wilcox grounded out to the second baseman, Schumacher grounded out to the third baseman, and Ramirez grounded out to shortstop.
• In the sixth inning, Kelsey Sullivan flied out to left field, Cassidy grounded out to the second baseman, and Gouin grounded out to the pitcher.
• During the seventh and last inning, Wilcox flied out to center field and Schumacher grounded out to shortstop. Ramirez singled to right field and Burnham grounded out to the third baseman. 
• Payton Crowley and Ashley Correll both pitched in this game, Crowley with two strikeouts and Correll only allowing one hit and zero runs.

The Mules will head down to Massachusetts to play their last games of the season against Amherst College on Saturday, May 4th at 2:00pm and 4:00pm.
