Beverly, MA - The Colby College Baseball team lost both games of their first road trip of the year at Endicott. Playing against the number two-ranked Division III team, the Mules held the Endicott Gulls to their lowest run totals of the season, losing 4-1 in the first game and 2-0 in the second.
Game One:
Hovering around 40 degrees at first pitch, the Mules battled to a 4-1 loss.
Nicholas Thompson allowed five hits and two earned runs through 4.1 innings pitched in his second outing of the year.
Ryan Grecco,
Zack Lurie, and
Kyle Bourque allowed two combined runs in relief.
Patrick Shrake was hot with two hits to his name, while
Marcus Forrester drove in
Ethan Hillenberg with a double in the ninth inning.
Game Two:
With a light rain starting to roll in, Colby fought hard, losing 2-0.
Cole Palmeri continued his four-game hitting streak to rise to an above-.500 average on the season, while
Noah Reichman hit his second double in three games. After striking out four batters in three innings,
Joe Sylvester was relieved with six shutout innings by
Thomas Rioux,
Greg Levin, and
Matthew Scibilio.
The Mules will return to Coombs Field at noon on Saturday, March 16 to face the Brandeis Judges.
