Palmeri hits three homers as the Mules destroy Williams

Davenport, FL - The Colby College Mules (10-3) destroyed the Williams College Ephs (4-8) by a score of 15-5 in their Wednesday NESCAC matchup. Senior Cole Palmeri hit three home runs and racked up seven RBI as he led the Mules to victory. Palmeri raises his home run total to six for the season and 23 for his career.

  • Palmeri hit a solo shot in the third inning.
  • In the fifth inning, Palmeri homered, scoring Ryan Grace.
  • Later in the fifth inning, Tony Silva hit a solo home run.
  • Three consecutive RBI singles were tacked on in the fifth inning by Patrick Shrake, Clint Flippo, and Marcus Forrester. 
  • Patrick McConnell kept the RBI single train alive in the sixth, scoring Brady O'Brien.
  • Ethan Hillenberg scored Palmeri and Forrester on a single to right field in the seventh inning.
  • Palmeri hit a grand slam to mercy rule the Ephs in the eighth. He drove in Grace, Forrester, and Flippo.
  • Zack Lurie earned the win as he and Kam Douin tossed four innings of one-hit shutout baseball in relief of Elijah Cohen.
The Mules are tied for the most wins in NESCAC and beat the Ephs for the first time since 2017. Palmeri sits in the top five of NESCAC in virtually every hitting category.

The Mules return to action at 1:00 PM on March 28 when they face the DePauw University Tigers in a doubleheader matchup in Davenport, Florida.
