Burke, Vt. - After an unexpected hiatus the EISA season resumed on Saturday with the Harvard Carnival hosted by Burke Mountain. As is topically the case at Burke the snow on Training Hill was rock solid and provided a fantastic day of racing. Rather unexpectedly the sun made an appearance, shining on the bottom part of the hill for the first run before creeping its way up to pound the entire hill.

The race was covered by ESPN with the race streaming in ESPN+ which provided an extra level of interest and pressure. Plenty of athletes rose to the occasion eager to take the first step towards an NCAA qualification with a Top-10.

The men got the action underway with Noah Riemenschneider starting eleventh and eager to best his fourth place from two weeks ago at the Colby Carnival. He mastered a faster set to finish the run in seventh, less then a second behind the leader Declan McCormack of the University of Vermont. Harrison Digangi was hot on his tails in fourteenth. Also making the flip 30 was Tucker Strauch who hung on desperately to 30th.

The women pushed out next with Hannah Soria leading the team in 19th. Carissa Cassidy sat just behind her in 23rd with Marit Kaiser making her first flip 30 sitting in 25th,

On run two the men faced a challenging tighter set that forced them to bring the A-game. Strauch, 30th on the first run and pushing out of the gate first laid down a blistering second run that would move him all the way up to sixth place on the day. He won the second run and delivered his best performance in his four years with the Mules. Digangi held his ground on the second run to stay in 14th.

Soria, Cassidy and Kaiser all moved up on the second run to finish in 15th, 20th and 22nd place. Molly Mueller also finished in the points with a second run charge to end the day in 26th.

The Mules return to action on Sunday with the GS portion of the Harvard Carnival.
