Colby to Face Middlebury in Conference Semifinals

Waterville, Maine - After defeating No. 6 Wesleyan 3-2 at home in a NESCAC quarterfinals matchup, the three seeded Colby Women's Ice Hockey team will face No. 2 Middlebury in the conference semifinals. This marks Colby's third straight year of reaching the semifinals as they currently ride a five game win streak. 

During the regular season in Middlebury the #10 Mules tied the #6 Panthers 1-1 on Jan. 12th then fell in the second game the next day 2-0. Breanna Studley assisted by Maria Pierce scored the lone goal for Colby while Grace Caligiuri tallied 53 saves in the two games combined. The last time the two teams met in the NESCAC Tournament was the 2016 quarterfinals with Middlebury taking a 4-3 victory. 

Friday nights game is set for 7:30pm hosted by top seeded Amherst. Fans can follow the live stats and webcast as well as find ticket information on the weekends events from these links. For more information check out the NESCAC's Championship Central page

The winner will advanced to the Championship game taking place the following day at 4:00pm against the winner of the other semifinal matchup of No. 4 Hamilton vs No. 1 Amherst.
