Middlebury, Vt. - The EISA Championships began on Friday with the Slalom at the Middlebury Snowbowl. With athletes looking to lock up spots at the NCAA Championships in Steamboat Springs, pressure was high. An unfortunate overnight snowstorm left a few inches on top of the track and challenged racers all day long. 

The Slalom took place on the famed "Allen" slope, which starts with a twenty-gate flat before breaking over to a moderate pitch and flattening out at the finish. The men were up first and Harrison Digangi flashed his consistency again with another top 10 finish. Noah Riemenschneider skied to 29th on the day and Patrick Coughlin finished just outside the points in 31st.

The women tackled a peely layer as the sun continued to bake the hill. Marit Kaiser, a consistent force in Slalom this season skied to a career best 16th, tied with fellow Mule Hannah Soria and just ahead of Meagan Olsen in 18th.

The Mules return to action on Saturday with the always electric Middlebury Giant Slalom, where a full crowd is expected to cheer on the final regular season race.
