Amherst, Mass.- Colby College Men's Squash competed against the Trinity College Bantams in the semifinals of the NESCAC championship playoffs. The Mules fell 8-1 to fall out of the NESCAC championship series. Colby end's the NESCAC season with a 12-5 record overall and a record of 5-3 in NESCAC conference competition. This season marks the highest overall record and first winning season since the 2019-2020 season.
One match highlight came from junior
Kit Illick who fell in his first and third rounds but found victory in his second and fourth rounds to take the match to the fifth round. In the fifth round
Kit Illick earned the 11-4 win for the overall win. Freshman
Seif Ashraf saw a close match-up that went until a difficult fifth round. Ashraf's freshman campaign saw only two losses, including today's loss. Sophomore
Inwoo Lee held a consistent number one position with only one match loss early in the season. The Mules also end the conference season with the fourth best record.
On Friday, February 16th, at 3:00pm, Colby College Men's Squash will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to compete against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Beavers in the College Squash Association Team Championships.
