Lyme, NH - The Dartmouth Carnival officially kicked off on Friday with a second day of racing at the Dartmouth Skiway. The good weather continued with sunny skies, and the decision not to groom the hill kept the surface in excellent condition.
Two full send sets were in store for the field as Bates and hosts Dartmouth set straighter with plenty of distance. The women's team has been fantastic at Giant Slalom this season and that continued on Friday. Meagan Olsen rebounded from an unfortunate DNF a day earlier to land in 6th and Hannah Soria delivered another top 10 result as she finished the day in 7th. Molly Mueller provided the third scorer in 15th as she began to put some solid speed together.
With solid snow the men were treated for a good race despite following the women. Harrison Digangi matched his 11th in the Slalom on Thursday with another 11th place finish, a mere eight-tenths of a second off of the podium. Nolan Sweeney was also able to rebound from a crash the previous day to ski to 15th.Â
Combined with a day of Nordic racing at Oak Hill, the Mules sit in fifth place narrowly behind the University of New Hampshire and Middlebury.Â
