Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Mules Reign Victorious on Senior Day

Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team hosted Wesleyan University on Saturday in a NESCAC matchup and a celebration of the team's four seniors. The Mules came out on top with a 3-1 victory, improving their records to 6-7-1 in the NESCAC and 14-7-1 overall.

Prior to the start of the game, Colby recognized the four seniors on the team for their dedication and contributions to the program over the past four years. The Mules came out strong and fired many shots on the Wesleyan goaltender. Junior Audrey Shirer netted her fifth goal of the season with an assist by Cailyn Murphy to give Colby a 1-0 lead. The pace of the game picked up after that but Colby remained in control. The second period saw 11 shots on goal for the Mules, with Megan Martodam finding the back of the net to make it 2-0 Colby. Wesleyan turned on the pressure in the third period, outshooting the Mules. Colby successfully killed off three third period penalties. Wesleyan was able to put the puck past goaltender Paige Bolyard once, but Beth Sinson answered back to solidify the 3-1 win for Colby.

Colby will travel to Connecticut next weekend for their final two games of the regular season.
