Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Late Goal for Colby Not Enough in Loss to Hamilton

Clinton, N.Y. - The Colby College Field Hockey team played Hamilton College on Saturday afternoon. The Mules held the Continentals to a 1-0 lead most of the game but fell short in the last few minutes. Colby now sits 2-4 in the NESCAC Conference.

The game remained scoreless after the first 15 minutes, as Colby and Hamilton played a pretty back and forth quarter. Hamilton found the back of the net with five minutes remaining in the first half, giving Hamilton the 1-0 lead. Colby came out hungry to start the third quarter, continuing to fight and finding shots on goal, but Hamilton was able to find another goal off a penalty corner with four minutes to play in the third. The Mules battled in the last quarter of the game, but it wasn't enough. Bridget Everett earned her fourth goal of the season off a pass from Lily Conway on a penalty corner with just over a minute to play, making it a one goal game. Colby fought hard for the last minute, but they weren't able to tie the game, as Hamilton finished with a 2-1 win. Leah Anderson stood tall for the Mules, collecting seven saves in the game.

Colby is back in action at Middlebury on Saturday at 12pm.
