Middletown, Conn. - In their second conference game of the season the Colby Men's Basketball team fell to Wesleyan 83-101. The Mules' record on the season falls to 7-7, 0-2 in the NESCAC conference.
Colby held their own against the Cardinals in the first half. Jack Lawson got to the paint while Lucas Green found the net from three. Up until five minutes left, the Mules only trailed by two, 30-32, until Wesleyan went on a 19-9 run. Colby went into half trailing 39-51
Coming out of the break Wesleyan held their lead. Ben Kaczmarek knocked down his second three-pointer to keep the deficit in the single digits but in the end, Colby couldn't draw within 10. Max Poulton had a big half en route to an 11-point game, six coming from threes in the second half. Green shot 50% from the field and notched four assists, carrying his momentum over from the first half. Although it was a high-scoring affair, with five Colby players finding double digits, Lawson outshone them all with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Lawson notched yet another double-double this season, proving his presence is paramount to the team's success.
The Mules are back in action on January 12th, hosting Williams at 7:00 pm.
