Middletown, Conn. - The Colby College Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving team competed on Saturday at Wesleyan and came out on top in dominating fashion! The final combined score was Colby-360 and Wesleyan-218 as the women's team earned 178 points while the men's team totaled 182.
Colby had many first place finishes…On the women's side,
Gabriella Landau,
Kellen Mottl,
Anna Coleman, and
Emma Cheung took first in the 200 Medley Relay. In the 100 Back event, Crowley got first, while Moy claimed the top spot for the 100 Free. As for the 200 Back,
Sarah Michael won and teammate Mottl won her 200 Breastroke event.
Meagan Englert won both the 500 Free and the 400 IM! In the diving events,
Avery Rappaport took the gold in the 1M event, while teammate
Eleanor McGrath won in the 3M event. On the men's side, the first wins went to Brandon Xiong, Jerome Wiater, Neil Mortimer, and Ethan Chang in the 200 Medley Relay. In the 1000 Free, Nathaniel Chon took first, while Carson Rehkopf took first in the 200 Free. Spencer Cohen won the 100 Back, and teammate Max LaRoche won the 100 Breastroke. In the 200 Fly Event, Skylar Yoham took the gold, while Xiong got it done again in the 50 Free. Rehkopf took another first in the 100 Free, while Xiong got his third win in the 200 Back. LaRoche took another win in the 200 Breastroke to conclude the swimming side. In the men's diving events, Colby had another great showing. Tate Weltzin won both the 3M event and the 1M event.
Up next, the Women's team will host the CBB meet on February 3rd while the Men head to Bates on the 10th for their CBB meet to wrap up regular season competition.
