Waterville, Maine- Colby College Men's Squash competed against in-state rivals the Bates College Bobcats for the final home game of the season. The Mules defeated the Bobcats 9-0 to improve to 8-3 overall and 4-3 in NESCAC conference competition.
In the third straight for Men's Squash, the Mules saw nine 3-0 victories including a close match-up by
Youssef Mostafa in which Mostafa held strong in a first round that went to sixteen points and defeated his competitor in the next two rounds straight as well. Both
Kit Illick and
Inwoo Lee kept their competitors under five points in two of their rounds.
Jonathan Sosa Uranga achieved a 3-1 victory, falling in his second round but recovering in the final two rounds for Colby to complete the sweep.
On Saturday, January 27th, Colby College Men's Squash will travel to Brunswick, Maine to compete against NESCAC competitor and in-state rival, the Bowdoin College Polar Bears to begin their road series to end the season.
