Box Score Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team took the ice on Saturday afternoon for their second game in their NESCAC series against Williams College on Saturday afternoon. The Mules took the game in overtime with a score of 3-2, improving their record to 11-3-1 overall and 4-3-1 in conference.
The lone goal of the first period was scored by Colby's
Anna Staton assisted by
Meg Rittenhouse and
Sophie Melsness. The Mules battled the Ephs through the second period and let up one goal, making it a 1-1 game heading into the third.
Audrey Shirer gave the Mules a 2-1 lead in the third period but Williams tied it up once again with less than five minutes to play in regulation. As regulation ended in a tie, Colby was set to play its third overtime of the season. The Mules showed up ready for overtime as
Meg Rittenhouse netted her twelfth goal of the season to end the game in 14 seconds and earn the win for Colby.
Grace Caligiuri had 31 saves on 33 shots today for the Mules.
The Mules host Plymouth State University on Tuesday afternoon.
