Bangor, Maine – Colby College Women's Soccer kicked off their season with a 1-0 win over Husson University, making their record 1-0 and leading the Eagles to their first loss of the season.
Colby started off the game with high intensity, frequently holding possession and keeping pressure on the Eagles. In the 6th minute of the first half, Charlotte Johnson was quick to go for a shot. Her attempt was one of many as Colby presented a strong offense throughout the entirety of the game with a total of 24 shots and 5 shots on goal, consistently challenging Husson's defense. In the 21st minute, Pepper Joseph overpowered Husson's defense to score a goal in the low right corner on a corner kick, securing the lead for the Mules. Colby's lights-out defense was another star of the show, not allowing any shots on goal by the Eagles.
