Middlebury, VT - The 20th ranked Colby Men's Tennis team concluded their spring season with a 5-0 loss to 4th ranked Middlebury in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC tournament.
The 5th seeded Mules faced the 4th seeded Panthers for the second time this season, with the Panthers taking the first contest 8-1. The Mules went down 3-0 after the doubles. At line 1, senior captain Jan Wenger and sophomore Jake Cohen lost 8-7(6). At line 2, the tandem of junior Sam Henry and sophomore James Bogdanovic fell 8-5. On court 3, junior captain Joey Barrett and freshman Aidan Kwong lost 8-6.
In the singles, Middlebury tallied points on courts 1 and 6 to clinch the match. At line 1, Noah Laber of Middlebury defeated Barrett 6-1, 6-3 and on court 6 Zihao Yuan of Middlebury defeated Kwong 6-2, 6-1.
The Mules finished the year at number 20 in the nation and 5th in the NESCAC.
