Waterville, ME - The 26th ranked Colby Women's Tennis Team fell to 8th ranked Tufts 7-2 in NESCAC play.
The Mules were unable to gain a point in the doubles. At line 1, junior captains Sam Riordan and Sydney Landau fell 8-3. On court 2, freshmen Maddie Omicioli and Bella Suk lost 8-4. At 3rd doubles, freshmen Amelie Gal and Ellie Gershaw fell in a tiebreaker 8-7.
In the singles, Riordan quickly added a point for the Mules at line 1, defeating Sophie Wax of Tufts 6-2, 6-1. Gershaw was the other win for the Mules on the day. She defeated Madeline Suk of Tufts at line 4 7-6, 3-6, 10-7.
At line 2, Landau took her opponent to a third set tiebreaker, but was ultimately defeated 6-4, 4-6, 10-4.
The Mules continue NESCAC play on Saturday, April 15th against Middlebury.
