Waterville, ME - The Colby Men's Tennis Team was defeated by number 4 ranked Tufts 8-1 on Saturday, April 8th.
The Mules put up a strong fight in the doubles, but were unable to steal a point from the Jumbos. On court 1, senior captain Jan Wenger and sophomore Jake Cohen fell 8-5. At line 2, junior Sam Henry and sophomore James Bogdanovic lost 8-6. On court 3, junior captain Joey Barrett and sophomore Aidan Kwong fell in a tiebreaker 8-7.
The Jumbos claimed 5 out of the 6 singles matches. The lone point from the Mules came at line 5, where Henry overcame a first set loss to win 0-6, 6-3, 6-1. At line 1, Barrett was defeated 6-3, 6-3. At line 3, Wenger took his opponent to a second set tiebreak, but fell 6-1, 7-6.
The Mules continue NESCAC play on Saturday, April 15th against Middlebury.
