Waterville, Maine - The Colby Softball team took both games in Wednesday's doubleheader at home against the visiting Bates Bobcats. The Mules won the first game by a wide margin with a final score of 7-0, and came from behind early in the second game to top the Bobcats 2-1. 

Game 1: 

• Colby played clean defense, committing no errors in the field all seven innings
• The Mules had 10 hits, with six different players registering at least one
• Colby had four extra base hits with a double from Abby Orso, a triple from Jackie Hill, and home runs from Logan Luebbe and Chloe Wilcox
• The Mules capitalized with runners on base, and swiped three stolen bases from the Bobcats

Game 2: 

• Colby had six hits with one extra base hit
• The Mules had another clean game in the field to finish the day with zero errors in 14 innings
• Colby had another three stolen bases
• Emma Burnham led the defense with two put outs and four assists at third base

The Mules will be back in action this weekend on the road at Middlebury College.
