Nicholas Thompson (LHP), Colby is set to pick up where they left off from last season.
Hosting the Owls of UMaine Presque Isle Sunday, Colby not only reached double digits in both games of Sunday's double header, but they reached a two-game high not seen in years. The Mules took the first game 18-2 and completed the sweep 21-0 in the nightcap.
GAME 1:
- Clint Flippo hit for the cycle, going 4-4 with a single, double, triple and a fourth-inning 3-run homer, collecting three RBI
- Palmeri went 3-4 with a double and a 3-run homer in the 4th, collecting five RBI
- The Mules combined for eight extra-base hits
- Starting pitcher Thompson pitched four scoreless innings, striking out seven and allowing only one hit
GAME 2:
- Flippo added his second triple of the day, collecting two more RBI
- O'Brien tallied four RBI with a sac fly and a fourth inning 3-run home run
- 11 different Mules registered at least one RBI
- Five different Mules registered a stolen base
- Starting pitcher Julien Erro went four scoreless innings, striking out eight and allowing only one hit
- The Mules pitching staff allowed one hit over seven innings
Colby is back in action next weekend when they travel to the Empire State to face off against RPI and Union.
