Chester, Pa. - Game number two of the Mules spring break trip found them venturing down to Chester, Pennsylvania, to take on Widener University for the first time in program history. Colby came in hoping to break a two-game losing streak against the Pride. The Mules found themselves tied at the half but could not finish their chances in the loss. The loss drops Colby to 1-4 and Widener to 2-5.
The first half saw the Mules have their second-highest scoring first half of the season as they tallied seven goals. They received two goals from
Doug McCarthy,
Max Solmssen, and
Henry Popko.
Evan DeVita was also able to find the back of the net.
Justin Turley also won 15 of his 30 face-offs in the first half to keep Colby tied going into the half.
The second half saw the Mules match their production from the first with another seven goals—this time with two goals from Solmssen and
Jack Goller. Colby also received scoring contributions from Popko, Turley, and
Cormac O'Neill. Turley finished the day with a career-high 30 face-off wins and 15 ground balls.
Brooks Rayment followed Turley with six groundballs, while
Jackson Alvord had five.
The Mules finish their trip with a visit to Hamilton on March 25th at 1 pm.
