Baseball Shuts Out WJC

Davenport, Fla. - The Colby College Baseball team won its second game in as many days in Florida to begin spring break.  The Mules topped Washington and Jefferson College 5-0 in nine innings to improve to 5-2 on the season.  The Presidents fall to 7-3.  
  • Colby pitchers Thomas Rioux, Adam Schwartz, and Matthew Scibilio combined for nine scoreless innings, scattering four hits and striking out nine.  Rioux was the workhorse earning the start, throwing six innings and striking out eight for his first win of the season.  
  • Seven different Colby batters collected a hit on the afternoon.  Marcus Forrester had a double and a triple, going 2-3 with a walk. 
  • Brady O'Brien hit his fourth home run of the season in the fifth inning, putting the Mules ahead 3-0.
  • Colby out-hit WJC 11-4. 
The Mules are back in action Monday against Wisconsin-Stevens Point (5-2).
