Waterville, ME - The Colby Women's Tennis Team hosted Wellesley College for their spring season opener on Saturday, March 11th.

The Mules came out firing in the doubles, gaining a quick 3-0 advantage. Junior Captains Sam Riordan and Sydney Landau dominated 8-2 at line 1, freshmen Maddie Omicioli and Isabella Suk won 8-5 at line 5 and the tandem of senior captain Caleigh McClain and freshman Amelie Gal took down their opponents 8-1 at line 3.

The match continued to be in control by Colby in singles as Riordan won 6-3, 6-2 on court 1, Omicioli 6-3, 6-0 on court 3 and freshman Ellie Gershaw 6-0, 6-2 at line 4. Landau dropped the first set on court 2, but was able to fight back and take down her opponent 2-6, 7-5, 11-9 at line 2.

McClain added another point for the Mules at line 6, dominating 6-0, 6-0.

The Mules will host Brandeis on Sunday, March 12th.
