Colby Falls in NESCAC Matchup Against Hamilton

Box Score Clinton, New York- Men's Ice Hockey battled against Hamilton College in a NESCAC matchup earlier this evening. The Mules are coming off a NESCAC win last weekend against Bowdoin and looking to move up in the NESCAC standings as we near the start of the post-season.

The Continentals got out to a fast start against Colby offensively, quickly outshooting the Mules. Hamilton found themselves on the power play in the later stages of the first, scoring the first goal of the game to take a 1-0 lead against Colby. In the second period, the Mules had their chances with Carter Breitenfeldt knocking in his sixth goal of the season with assists coming from Alex Bourhas and Max O'Brien. The equalizer, however, was quickly answered by a goal from Hamilton, regaining the lead at 2-1 going into the final period. The Mules outshot the Continentals in the final period, but unable to find the back of the net despite several strong opportunities. Hamilton would secure the win with an empty net goal to defeat Colby 3-1.
Andy Beran made 22 saves for the Mules.

Colby is back in NESCAC action tomorrow at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts, in the teams' second matchup of the season where Amherst took game one with a 3-0 win over the Mules. Puck drop is slated for 3 PM.
