New London, Conn. - The Colby College Men's Ice Hockey team fought back from an early deficit but couldn't complete the comeback Friday night falling to the Conn. College Camels 3-1. The Mules are now 2-2-2 on the season while Conn. improves to 3-4-0.
The first period saw the hosts get out to an early 2-0 lead before Javi Ubari closed the gap to a single goal midway through the second. The score was the junior's second of the season, assisted by
Jayden Grier and
John McElaney. The two squads combined for six penalties in the second frame, including a 10-minute misconduct by each team. The Camels were able to capitalize on a five-on-three advantage for their third goal of the night eight seconds before the end of the second period. A scoreless third ushered Colby its first conference loss of the season.
The Mules complete their road trip Saturday visiting Tufts University.
