Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Mules Earn Last Minute Victory on Alumnae Weekend

Waterville, Maine- Colby College Women's Ice Hockey competed against the Trinity College Bantams, Colby won the match 2-0. The Mules are now 10-5-0 overall and 4-5-0 in NESCAC conference competition.

The first period was fairly even between both sides with five shots by Trinity and six shots by Colby and no goals by either team. In the second period, the Mules increased the offensive pressure, pulling ahead with thirteen shots in comparison to the Bantams only managing two shots. Although none of the shots made their way into the goal, Colby's offense saw many close shot attempts which would pay off in the third period. Only 1:09 into the third period, Sophomore Audrey Shirer put the puck up high into the net to give Colby the late lead and make the game 1-0. The majority of the third period was an even competition between the Mules and Bantams, until Tate Senden shot the puck into the empty net to secure the win for Colby with only seven seconds left in the match. This win for the Mules comes on the first night of a memorable 50th Anniversary Celebration of Women's Ice Hockey at Colby.

Tomorrow at 3:00 pm Colby College Women's Ice Hockey will rematch the Trinity College Bantams at the Jack Kelley Rink.
