Bangor, MAINE- Colby returned to the court tonight, looking to get back into the win column after a four-game stretch of tough NESCAC opponents. The Mules started strong as they built a 37-28 halftime lead, and they finished with a stellar second half, running off with an 82-72 victory. The Mules move to 13-5 with the victory, while the Eagles drop to 7-9.
In the first half, Colby got down to doing what brought them success in the early season. They forced 11 first-half turnovers, converting them into 13 points and dominating the paint. The Mule's scoring was led by
Kyle Butler with ten points,
Max Poulton with eight points, and
Noah Tyson with seven points.Â
The second half saw Colby continue to force turnovers and dominate the paint. The Mules also were aided by a hot shooting hand as they hit 50 percent of their shots. Colby was led in scoring with 11 more from Poulton, 11 from
Cooper Wirkala, and then seven from
Will King. The Mules continue to receive substantial contributions from the bench as they work to regain strength. This game saw them receive a season-high 12 points from Butler.Â
Colby returns home this weekend as they face off against in-state rivals Bowdoin on January 21st at 3 pm.Â
