Waterville, Maine- Colby College Men's Squash defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 8-1 in a NESCAC conference matchup. The Mules are now 4-4 overall and 3-1 in NESCAC conference competition.
Some highlights from the matchups include four 3-0 matches from
Youssef Mostafa,
Dylan Tymkiw,
Jonathan Sosa Uranga, and
Sebastian Campos.
Youssef Mostafa held his opponent to five points and under in his first and third rounds and in the second round they tied at 10 points each before
Youssef Mostafa got the two-point lead to win the match.
Dylan Tymkiw and
Sebastian Campos both held their opponents to under ten points each round.
Jonathan Sosa Uranga held his opponent to only two points in his first round and got a two-point lead after the 10-point tie to go undefeated in his round.
Rintaro Yamamoto lost his first two rounds, but stayed confident and steady to win his next three rounds straight to win the match.
Kit Illick lost his first round before coming back to win his second round with 14 points and his third round with 13 points before winning the thrilling match. This marks the Mules eighth straight win against the Continentals in the last six years.
Tomorrow Colby College Men's Squash plays at home against the Middlebury College Panthers at 3:00 pm.
