Waterville, Maine - The Mules came out charging for a Wednesday non-conference matchup against the Husson Eagles. Scoring five goals on the night, the Mules dominated throughout the game.
Scoring opened in just the 7th minute on a set piece from
Pepper Joseph that was headed into the net by
Sophie Webb for her first goal of the season.
Kaleigh Quinn scored just five minutes later for her third goal of the season as the Mules kept the ball in the attacking third for the majority of the half. Sophie Digrande added a third score in the 32nd minute her first of two goals on the night.
The second half continued to be all Colby as the Mules scored two goals, the first coming in the 60th minute by
Murphy Leung and the second by Sophie Digrande. In the end, 22 Mules saw the turf as the Eagles appeared to have no answers to the Colby defense.
Colby finished with 23 shots (13 on net) to Husson's six shots (three on net) which made it a light days work for keeper
Emily McMaster.
The Mules will return to action for their second NESCAC game of the season on Saturday against the Trinity Bantams. That game will kick off at 11:00 on Mark Serdjenian Field.
