Middletown, Connecticut- Colby Field Hockey battled against Wesleyan University earlier this afternoon, in their first NESCAC matchup of the season.

Wesleyan jumped out to a 1-0 over the Mules with seven seconds left in the first quarter. In the following quarter, Colby battled against the Cardinals, finally being awarded their first penalty corners of the match. The Cardinals jumped out to a 2-0 lead but was quickly answered on a penalty corner goal by junior
Lillian Kistner to cut the lead in half.

The Mules pressured Wesleyan in the following two quarters but were unable to find the back of the cage. The Cardinals would score once more to make the final score 3-1. Junior
Emily Loeb started in goal for Colby, making three saves on the day.

The Mules will be back in action in Biddeford, Maine on Wednesday for a non-conference matchup against the University of New England.
