Box Score Hartford, Conn. - The Mules traveled to challenge Trinity in their final regular season weekend. Trinity is 8-6 overall and 4-5 in the NESCAC and the Mules contributed to that win with an 11-9 win.
Despite Colby's domination in the NESCAC this entire season and Trinity's underwhelming NESCAC record, the game on Saturday was close. This is typical Trinity fashion, however, seeing as many of their losses have been very close and just not falling their way.
Gianna Bruno was a top scorer for the day with two goals and four assists. Juniors
Annie Eddy and
Elizabeth Hennessey added two more goals apiece and senior
Grace Toner also tacked on two more goals. Sophomore
Cami McDonald and first year
Ainsley Dion came off the bench with two and one goals, respectively.
Defensively, the Mules had eight groundballs and five caused turnovers. Many attackers are credited with the caused turnovers confirming that they're ride is strong against the opposing defensive unit. Senior
Eliza Dean was strong on the draw control winning seven throughout the game, double that of any other individual player on the field and contributing to more than half of Colby's won draw controls.
The Mules will look to play their final regular season matchup on Wednesday April 27th at 7:00pm in Lewiston.
