Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse with a 19-8 Win Against Conn College

Waterville, Maine - The Mules welcomed the warmer temperatures, sunshine, and the Connecticut College Camels for their fourth NESCAC game of an already successful season.

Colby has had an outstanding run so far, with only one loss so far this season, beating Tufts in the first game and beating a top Division III team just last week.  The Mules brought their game today against the Camels, scoring nearly 20 goals, making many substitutions in the second half and still dominating the play.

franzColby controlled the entire game, despite a few dropped balls in the midfield, dancing circles around their opponent.  The Mules were successful on 17 out of 18 clears and won 16 of 27 draw controls.  With 39 shots, the Mules had 10 different goal scorers.  Sophomore Ally Franz (pictured left) is coming into her own on attack and scored a total of five goals, leading the team on attack today.

On defense, the Mules held the Camels to only eight goals, a strong showing for a team defense.  Any defensive unit that keep a team to under ten goals is poised for a successful season, as long as their attack can score, which doesn't seem to be an issue for Colby.  A strong defensive unit starts in the back with a consistent goalkeeper and strong communication for the defensive unit.  Colby has shown the NESCAC that their defenders have strong 1v1 skills while also being able to work as a team.

The Mules travel to Beverly, Massachusetts on Sunday April 3rd to play Endicott in an out-of-conference match-up at 2:00pm.
